Special Events Will Shape Your Life

Image
Courtesy of Tebbie I received this message from a business friend who is a pretty special person.  I 've shorten it some, but his message is clear.  He wrote this as he prepared for a business event this weekend, and as he nears the event opening you can feel in his words, where he's coming from.  For anyone in business, or in the public arena that speak to a large group, you're aware of the time, the preparation, and emotion it takes to lift a crowd.  He does it  every time.   Here he is, David Wood: "As I'm sitting here in Denver, getting ready for the biggest and most powerful event we've ever done, all I can think about is the people who are going to leave this weekend a different person than they came." "See, I know something you may not know – yet." "Have you ever been driving down the road, listening to a song, and as the words flow into your ears, suddenly – as if nothing else in the world exists in t...

What Did People Search For In 2012?

Sometimes you have to return to where you’ve been, to take a look back to see where you’ve come from in order to know where you’re going. It’s time to go back and  search  through 2012 and let the sights and sounds touch you again. What may feel like it occurred long ago was really just around last month’s corner. What you will see in the following two minute & forty-five second video may give you a few chill bumps, or bring a tear to your eye.  Watch it once, then watch it a second time. Remember: No matter what you have standing in front of you, you can conquer it. No matter what demands are made of you, you can deal with them. No matter where you want to go, you can  search  and get there. No matter what obstacles are thrown in front of you, never give up. No matter the physical or emotional pain, find a friend to confide in for support. Someone’s got your back.  Everyone needs a friend, someone they can count on for help and su...

Little Known Facts About the 5th of July

Sadly, I'd have to say that if Jay Leno had a Jay Walking segment on The Tonight Show and asked the question  Why do we celebrate the 4th of July?,  there's no telling what answers he would get. While everyone is enjoying their day off from work on the 4th by either resting or squeezing two days worth of activities into one, I had to ask myself the question, what happened the next day, on the 5th of July? Interesting things, I found, that happened on the 5th of July.  Here are just a few: On July 5th, 2012, Seacoast Mavericks pitcher Brian Read, had endoscopic surgery to remove a l.5 inch-long piece of hot dog stuck sideways in his esophagus. Seems that ...
