When I'm alone a lot of serious thinking can take place. Here's a spot I like to go to every now and then.  A short journey by boat can take me away from noise and congestion. I've challenged myself to go back as far as possible alone, but so far I might have made it only half way. Maybe it's the comfort and eeriness combined that pull me into this place.  As I journey onward, everything begins to close in and magnify at the same time. Once, there was a Great Blue Heron way at the end of the light's path, appearing only as a speck. As it came at me, its wing span appeared to begin to touch the treetops on each side of the creek bank. Suddenly, it was as large as a 747 as it winged past me and disappeared.
